A couple of months ago I discovered the music of Independent Recording Artist Laban King and I've been hooked ever since. Unbeknownst to me, he watched 3LWTV! I made a trip to his hometown Detroit, Michigan where he graciously gave me a tour of his city. We talked about the prominent Black Middle Class, stereotypes, music and why Atlanta is NOT the new Motown.
Laban has just completed his first album slated for release next month. His lead single, "One Chance," has been featured in several 3LWTV videos. The album is being released on his own label, Zupiter.

ANACOSTIA – The Web Series is a 10 Episode Dramatic Web Series which follows the lives of the residents of ANACOSTIA, a small residential community in Washington D.C. as they navigate through love, betrayal, deception, sex and murder.
I recently discovered this compelling series and had to contact its creator to find more. If you have not had a chance to fall in love with wonderful series, please take time to review the episodes now! I am addicted!
Each resident of ANACOSTIA has their own share of painful secrets as well as personal vices which threatens to destroy their peaceful community and all that surrounds it. In the center of the chaos stands the shrewd and manipulative Michael Stephenson who will stop at nothing to get what he wants…..even possibly murder.
When Michael Stephenson goes too far, someone decides to give Michael a taste of his own medicine which sparks a chain reaction that will have implications on all of the residents of ANACOSTIA for years to come.
Created by Anthony Anderson the Writer and Producer of the critically acclaimed Independent Film The Ties That Bind, ANACOSTIA is a new twist on a familiar formula. “I wanted to create a show that was along the lines of Dallas and Knots Landing with a bit of a Sex And The City flair” said Anthony. “The show will have twists and turns along with what we are sure to be controversial story lines which will spark interesting debate I'm sure” Anthony continued.
ANACOSTIA has an ensemble cast which all relish the opportunity to portray such diverse and interesting characters. Included in this great cast are Walter Maxfield Jones, Tamieka Chavis, Kena Hodges, Wil Lash, Anthony Anderson, Chante' Bowser, Pasha Diallo, Terrence Porter, Tia Dae, Jermaine McNeal, Marion Akpan and Kareem Pettaway.
Congratulations to Anthony Anderson and the entire production team for bringing forth this incredible series!

Meet Roshonda Payne! This beautiful entrepreneur has launched her own beauty line, Liquid Lounge. I have fallen in love with the products! I first met Roshonda years ago when we were in the same training class for our previous employer. I was immediately struck by her warm personality and beautiful appearance. We connected then and our friendship is as strong now as ever.
Roshonda is smart yet hilarious. Determined but practical. In this episode we discuss a range of hot topics including interracial dating, gold diggers, finding love, and religion. How can a heterosexual woman of strong Christian faith befriend an openly gay man without judgement? She answers this! Attention! Class is in session!

If you are in Atlanta this weekend and you appreciate good poetry, check out my friend Antron's new book release!
Bohemian Rebel: The Rising vol.2 is the anticipated sequel that will entice the senses, testify the loosing of oneself and take you on yet another roller coaster ride of a year and a half's worth of emotional baggage, triumphs and pitfalls solely to find the road to redemption and re-learn the ultimate lesson....Forgiveness
This book includes poetry and confessions of the heart written from the perspective of a young black gay man renewing, relearning and truly loving himself. For the first time.
Lee Hayes, author of Passion Marks, A Deeper Blue and The Messiah quotes:
"Mr. Brown's sophomore release packs an emotional wallop and will leave you weak-kneed and teary-eyed, but through his struggles you will learn to stand tall with dry eyes."

I recently returned to Saudi Arabia, this time to the city of Jeddah; my first time there. Perched on the exquisite Red Sea, this town feels peaceful and a not nearly as sterile as the capital city, Riyadh. I was impressed by the high level of customer service received consistently. My hotel had 5 star accommodations. The food was EXCELLENT! Eastern and Western flare available, your palate will be pleased.
I still have not been to Africa. This is the closest I've come, just across the red sea from Egypt and Sudan. Flying home we could see the Pyramids from the plane! I MUST get to Africa. Something tells me it will be a life changing experience.
I had a chance to walk around in Jeddah and I could not believe the number of drivers (all men) who were honking and smiling. It was like being in Atlanta. lol. Though I used my time off for relaxation (the tub in my room was incredible), I did have an opportunity to visit some of the city's sights. Nothing destroys stereotypes like personal experience. The Middle East we see on American TV is NOT the Middle East I have visited on numerous occasions.
Here is the latest 3LWTV episode which features this trip. I hope you enjoy!

Transsexual woman Tracee McDaniel sat down for an interview on 3LWTV providing loads of insight on her life. I first met Tracee after an event in ATL about a year ago. Her warmth and spirit are so overwhelmingly loving. She does not live up to many of the ignorant stereotypes many of us have about the Transgender (TG) community. Tracee runs her own business, has a happy 14 year marriage and is very happy in life. Not that the journey has been easy, but looking at this woman today, she has attained what most of us dream.
In this candid interview we talk what it means to be TG, advice to TG youth, beef between TG and drag queen as well as a host of other hot topics. I am always impressed by Tracee's knowledge, her calm and her dedication to advocacy. Watch our interview here:

Popular YouTubers gathered in ATL's Grant Park recently to meet each other as well as their viewers. The brainchild Candy and Skittles of SweetAddictionsTV, the "Sweet & Greet" was an opportunity to get many of the YouTubers who were in town, together in one place.
I am so proud of these young men and women because they each contribute something positive to the table. In a world that is so virtual, it was nothing short of amazing to see everyone together in person.
